I was really sad to read today that Don Partridge has died.

I had the chance to book him for Fury Fest 03, and I can't believe I passed up on it.

I'll be posting The Times obituary for him on billyfury.com in the near future.

I see that he is survived by four sons and two daughters from three marriages - so he certainly lived his life.

I can't believe you two hadn't heard of him! I remember when we first saw him on the telly. You hear about a "one-man band" but to actually see it in action was great. Haven't heard anything about him for many years though.

Like Jean - I too had heard of him. Mike my husband really liked him

Perhaps they are trying to tell us we're old Jean so perhaps we should remember him along with Marie Lloyd, Hetty King and all the other old greats
