New Tower

Postby cathy » Mon May 09, 2011 3:49 pm

I thought I would die today when I got up and my PC wasn't working :( It switched itself off yesterday but it came back on so thought no more of it until it did it again this morning but wouldn't come back on ... panic stations !! ... phoned Jo who was in Town and she (without me knowing) phoned PC Dan (her friend) within 5 mins he was knocking my door  ... bad news though, to repair it would cost as much as to buy a new tower so off Jo and me went to 1st Tesco's, not in stock, next day delivery, then to Argos, too expensive, then to Northampton to PC World ... GOT ONE !! and what a nice little one it is too  .. am using it as basic until tomorrow until Dan comes to transfer all my bits over ... Just goes to show I CAN'T live without my PC for a day ... except while away on holidays LOL ... I'm now on windows7 hope I get on ok with it ! .. anyone got this ? ... xxx

I went out & bought a laptop once when the 'puter broke. Ours crashed completely the other week. Took OH 2 days to fix it & I couldn't use the lappy as we haven't got wireless anymore. I had so much spare time on my hands I nearly did some housework but I read a book & went shopping instead

Our TV and PC went off the other night (we're with Virgin Media). It was only for an hour but I was almost tearing my hair out!! I didn't mind the TV going off - but not my PC.

Cathy - I thought your PC was Windows7 - I know it's different to mine as I've still got Windows XP.

I can't get on with a laptop Sarah, have tried my granddaughters a few times, I can't use the pad and the keyboard is weird IMO lol ... xxx

When I use my laptop, Cathy, I use a mouse; also I put something under the back of the lappy so that it tilts it and the keyboard is easier to use.

Like Keith - I have XP on my PC and Windows 7 on my laptop.

However I only use my laptop when I am away working and don't really use it too much for fun :( So don't have any idea what Windows 7 is like in comparison to XP. I love XP :D

My home PC had a good clean out on Tuesday  Because it is situated near the floor, it picks up no end of dust. :( Got Jerry my PC man to come out and give it a good hoover. He installed some new software as he is good like that
