What a brilliant selection, Daniel.

I'm also a fan of Joe Meek's work - there are some real gems to discover.

The nice thing is that Joe's touch gives an edge to what could be some pretty trivial music.

I think I would probably have to include a Charles Kingsley Creation number in my selection.

I wonder what our friend, ex-Puppet Des O'Reilly, would pick.

Johnny Remember Me was one of those songs that when you heard it, you knew straight away it would go to number 1.

Another (not Joe Meek) was Joe Brown's A Picture Of You.

Nice list Daniel. Wasn't Jeannie and the Big Guys a Joe Meek act? I rated them. Also Charles Kingsley and who would forget Can Can 62?

Those songs brought back a few memories, the first six songs being classics in their own right , but the real knockouts were in my opinion the screaming lord sutch song and john leyton with the vampire ditty coming in a close third. Great stuff Daniel , many thanks.

I'd forgotten about the Cryin' Shames until Daniel picked it. It's really haunting, isn't it?

This has been an incredibly popular feature - congratulations to Daniel. Quite a few people have been referred from other sites and it's such a pity that we haven't had a few comments from them.
